Default Filters...Which brand is the best

    werthliving.com

In the past couple of weeks I've spent some major money on some lenses, including the 24-70mm F/2.8 and 70-200mm F/2.8.

What brand if filters are the best; Tiffen, Hoya or B&W?

I was hoping for you to respond. Below is from another forum I've been visiting with the thread labeled "What have you bought recently"; yes I started the thread.

Him "Mine is simple. I had to replace a CPL filter. This time when considering the purchase I bypassed Hoya and Tiffen. I sprung for the extra cash (about $12 more) and got a B&W one. What a difference in quality and build! Never going back to those brands again. "

Me "B&W is better than Hoya? I thought it was the other way around, especially when getting to the Hoya filters that cost $150 and above."

Him "Comparing the quality and build it is like comparing a Chevy to a Rolls Royce here."

Me "I was about to buy some Hoya filters. Now I'll be looking at B&W...Thanks"

Him "If you can get into a shop that has both, compare and I will think you will be just as surprised. I have used Hoya and Tiffen filters for almost 40 years now, and for me to be this wowed on this, is something."
