Yeah, also just stumbled upon a trade opportunity. My last pc o the puzzle is a center upgrade, but the RC64ii is huge and wont fit on top of my stand (4 woofers and like 37" wide). I found someone with an older Klipsch center that came with the first gen reference series. It is about the size of my center now but instead of dual 6.5" woofers it has dual 8's! Also has the larger horn that matches the RF7's I just got.

    RC64ii

    RC7

Having a center with 8" woofers would allow me to cross it at 60hz as well, which is what I intend to do with the RF7's. This is gonna be a crazy week as everything starts arriving.

Just found out the RC7 is black, and has some scratches, I so may punt on that idea. I will probably sell the 4520ci this weekend and use that money towards an RC64ii B-stock center ($800 or so). I will have to make a new shelf for the preamp, but I need a center with the larger horn, and this may be my option.

Uh, yeah. You wouldn't be happy with a scratched up 2nd hand. It would be different if it were in mint condition.....

The rumor is that the 7ii and 64ii flagships will be replaced late this year with a refresh, but they are still making them now. 64ii's are all over ebay from auth retailers for great prices, so I wont have a problem finding one in a week or two when I get ready.

Just glad I finally got the second of these hot mama's in today (and it was the right color).

    Got one more device coming.

    http://www.panamax.com/Products/A-V-...nts/MR5100.php

This allows me to get rid of two conditioners I have now (one is a UPS) and save some space. Wanted this model because it is rated 15amp and 1800w, not 13amp like some and it has four high current banks. With two subs and an amp, I need three.

Should have everything in, including the Marantz preamp tomorrow afternoon, so I guess Thursday night will be me tearing everything out and re-doing my system.

I'll try and sell the 4520ci next week, and then try and upgrade the center after we get back from Vacation (vegas baby!).

Well, taking everything out tonight, should have preamp tomorrow. My BJC 12AWG cables were way to long for this setup, so I took this chance to pull them out, get banana plugs on the one end that didn't have welded plugs, and trim them down to accurate lengths. Also finally got to test the 7500 on the old towers before I pulled them and it is working fine.

Will load the 82ii's in the car Saturday for my buddy.

Well, Marantz did not make in today %$&%^$^%$!!!!!

Anyways, hopefully will be here tomorrow, so I went ahead and pulled the stand out and moved all my gear around. Instead of the preamp sitting up on top next to the center, which can't happen if I get a 64ii, it will be right in the middle (empty hole). Tivo is moving out of system, so I put the power center, Oppo and Hopper all on the left. Will look pretty good once I get the AV7702 in there.

I know. I ordered the damn thing Saturday from bestbuy, and it was supposed to be shipped to store and arrive today. Of course the robots on the phone can't tell you anything other than the store will email when it is ready for pickup. They better hope it comes tomorrow, because I will raise all grades of hell. Something told me just to use Amazon...

I mean the thing cost $2199 %^#%^$*+^%*^$%&#&%^$!!!!, shame on me for wanting to use the damn thing!!!

    Ok, battling two issues now:

    1) amp transformer hummmmmmmmmmmm. After a lot of troubleshooting yesterday, it is my plasma. Apparently this is not uncommon, and the plasma is injecting dc voltage into the ac line. Hum is nowhere to be found with plasma off, is low when plasma is on a dark scene, and goes buck wild when plasma is on a bright scene (more power consumption). I used a multimeter to test DC volts at the outlet and confirmed the plasma was causing some issues. Emotiva offers a high current plug for this very application/problem, so I ordered it. I will probably put the preamp on it as well if it works because the preamp has a nice transformer in it, and the last thing I want is a $2000 noisy preamp...

    2) Secondly, XT32 set the trim level of my center at -12, which is bottomed out, and the fronts at -9. I am guessing it is a combo of the new preamp outputs, the 7500's power and these highly effecient towers. I ordered some balanced audio connectors (XLR) and will see if it gets better, but it may get worse. If so, they make a 15db attenuator that goes on an XLR cable, so I can add those to each one and it will fix my audyssey level setting.

For the time being checked the fronts and they are post on 75db, and the center is closer to 76db. This won't be huge in the interim, but the concern is if I get the 64ii, which is larger and more efficient, the problem could get worse. I may have to attenuate regardless.
