Default Bias lighting LED Rope lights ?

    werthliving.com

Well after a few years of use, I think its time to retire my idealume bias lighting. two of the four sets I have the bulbs have died WELL before they were supposed to. And with Cinemaquest out of business that I know of well............

So can any kind soul educate me on LED ropelight and what to get and NOT to get.
I have done a basic search of 6500k rope light but came away unsatisfied....

Are you sure they are out of business? The site looks to be functioning fine.

find another very cool looking solution. Similar to the Ikea but maybe a little better as it can be ordered with a remote.

    Wanted to share

Here's my cheap solution. A gooseneck lamp (already had it laying around) and a compact fluorescent bulb:

Led Rope Light is the good choice for Bias lighting. LED are happening very quickly at the moment and the lumens/watt ratio is starting to be comparable with high pressure discharge light sources and the cost per unit reducing to the level that for certain applications an economic case can already be made. I have this one :

My wife strung a 12 ft (?) section of LED rope light down our stairs, with a timer to run it from dusk until midnight or so, but we use a simple small tube light behind our main (basement) tv.

In theory, a "Bias Light" is supposed to be a Certain "Temperature" - think 6500K is mentioned in one of the early posts. We've tried a "daylight" bulb that was supposed to be at least close to 6500K, and currently have the cheap tube lamp referenced: alas, cannot claim to be able to tell between the two.... (Although have not done a direct "A / B" comparison - perhaps should try that out....)
