This is an example of one orange WITH the pulp...now envison you taking several oranges and extracting the sugar without the pulp...the ratings for glycemic index are WITH the pulp..HERE if natural sugars had no negative impact on your health they wouldn't be listed under "the bad" category

Go down to the paragraph that starts with "the authors describe" HERE

Just because natural sugars in fruits aren't processed doesn't mean that they can't be harmful...especially if taken in high amounts without the benefit of fiber to slow down the process...

This is actually an article that mentions your juicer...read the very first thing under 6 things to consider HERE
Hmmm....Now you are turning me to spend more money on a new juicer. Thanks jerk! ; - )

Figured it would be easier to get rid of the spare tire at 42 than at 50. LOL

Speed, are you responsible for that Blendtec banner ad???

Actually, I had never heard of them before you mentioned it, so I took a look on the puter. Geez, damn things cost as much as fridge! That's one high-dollar blender you got there. Does it walk, talk and crawl on its belly like a reptile?

Those banner ads appear based on your browsing habits...that's what I've been told...in regards to the Blendtec...it has a 3 Hp engine!...that's like taking a lawn mower engine and putting it in a blender...built like a tank...75% of the product is from the USA...which is a rarity these days...this is a video clip from the History Channel show Modern Marvels..not some advertisement commercial...

It's cheaper to stay healthy then not to. Think about all that money spent on booze and cheeseburgers.

Yeah, but that's a hard sell...cause it takes an amazing amount of willpower. Which, many simply don't have. Some would say - life is too short, eat/drink what makes you happy. I'm on the fence. I want to be healthy, but the drag of my job leaves me little time. Blah, blah....lmao

You have 2 choices in life...1. Eat to live...2. Live to eat...

I used to think like that. I was always in the mind of live life how I want to dammit! Let the chips fall as they may. Until I actually tried it and I felt better than I ever have. I was one stubborn SOB.

Not really a hard sell...it's just a matter of education...now in schools at an earlier age kids are told about nutrition...problem is the parents are still living in the past and don't help in this regard...it really doesn't require willpower...just time...once you discover all the good things you can eat that still taste good it's pretty simple...you have to start with basic things first...there are some easy things you can do in the beginning that don't require much effort...but usually people aren't interested until they have a medical problem...

The life is too short phrase you used reminds me of an interview with Mickey Mantle...the baseball legend...his family had a history of dying young...he said he would have taken better care of himself if he had known he would have lived this long...

That's pretty cool. I can just imagine re-writing that scene in Fargo, but this time we swap out the wood chipper for a Blendtec! Man, that is one serious blender. This is a great thread, and even if I don't run out and join my local gym, I'm still learning a lot of very useful info.

Ya know...if people would just try some basic changes in their lifestyle they could reap some great benefits...I'm not talking about radical changes...just some basic things...I'm sure a lot of folks out there could contribute to this thread.... if they wanted to...maybe some more will come forward...I know it sounds trivial...but a few changes could extend your life...add years..and improve your quality of life...and this isn't rocket science...it isn't hard...you just have to have an open mind and be willing to try new things...
