Since Sharp indicated they would not market this display as a Sharp display other than the manufacturer on the back sticker, shouldn't we be calling this thread "Elite" Pro...?

The display we saw had no DSE. The motion was good, but did show some artifacting in the 3rd IMAX scene from the Dark Knight. (Buildings scene in Japan)

I dunno, thats a tough one. I mean the box, the website and the literature say nothing of Sharp. If it was a Pioneer Elite with Panny glass, we'd still call it a Pioneer Elite.

Everything thing on this says Elite Pro, no Sharp, no Pioneer.

The Sharp VP said it himself in the press conference Robert posted, no Sharp or Pioneer branding just Elite, I think we should reflect that in the name of this thread

I reserved mine yesterday at Robert's store...I saw the tv in person... It's simply an amazing TV... And to be honest, taking pictures of this TV won't even do justice... You just have to see it in person... The black levels were so amazing that under a low lit room... I couldn't even see the where the bezel starts

I am tempted to wait for BB magnolia which is 3 mi from my house but they won't have anything soon.

I am blown away by the black levels and brightness of this TV per valueelectronics pics. They are internet though and i just don't trust internet sales regardless of the reputation. Not to mention bonus points and 30 day return policies.

It is true, there are people who should buy local. There are others that know exactlly what they want and can buy on the net for discounted pricing.

After careful review of all the threads, they all refer to Robert's store. Not to mention, when you have a guy like Robert being invited to the Sharp Elite presentation, it speaks volumes about his reputation in the industry. Also, he has Kevin Miller calibrating the Elite tvs at his store. This is the same person who calibrated the ones for the Sharp/Pioneer conference. When I went to his store for the first time, I honestly didn't know what to expect. I was presently surprised at how everyone is so friendly there. It's honestly refreshing especially when you compare shopping at places like Best Buy. My friend put it best. You feel like you're entering a Ferrari dealership. Everything is well thought out in the space provided and maintains a home like feeling which in other stores like best buy feel forced. As an added bonus, they're sending two techs who will calibrate your components to the TV. I don't see Best buy or any other retailer going to that level of service. Lastly. the fact that Robert received his 70" display before anyone else in the country should give you some comfort as to what the industry thinks of him... Hope this gives you another view of his store... It's just my opinion though :-)

Also do not forget out forum sponsor Cleveland Plasma will carry them and Chad B surely would be calibrating at request.

And let's try and keep this an owner's thread, not a store review thread please. I already suggested folks start a retailer review thread, it would be much better suited there, just like our calibrator review thread.

Matter of fact, Im starting a retailer review thread now, and we will move posts there that require it.

That's a good point, but here is the problem. If someone goes to google to search for this display, the first thing they will type in is Sharp. If the thread or posts don't include the name Sharp, no one will find any info on it.
