If his leash is as short as Pie's was last year perhaps Hendry will give Edmonds another call.
Yes, but his pre-season was a repeat of last year, so I'm taking that into account. Seems a damn good indication to me. I don't want him to be a slugger. I want him to drive in runs and not constantly swing at bad pitches. RBI man. That's what he needs to be.

Very old.. But not old and overpaid.. That would be Alfanso Sorryano and or Derrek Lee.

He had 35 home runs the 2 years with the Sox.. And averaging 38 homeruns and 100 RBI's in 3 years as a White Sox.. I will take that from and old man from Peoria any day. He will be only the 6th player in history to reach 600 homers and pass roid boy Sosa b4 his day is over...

And it's not like Wrigley isn't a home run derby park either.. So give me a break..

    Roids. ; - )

Without Sori the Cubs don't make the playoffs the past two years. Over paid? Certainly, but he's still puts up the numbers every year and the Cubs are a better team with him.

Pretty good article on Home Run Park Factor:

I don't know about that.. Not saying he is a bad player at all, but I think if he was injured for all of last year, they make the playoffs with what they have. If they would have gotten a very good lead off hitter like Roberts to replace him, no question.. And then there is the injuries and other than his arm, he is a sub par fielder. Not to mention that he takes a 5 day nap every October.. Since the only thing that counts is ending the 101 year championship drought, what is the point of that????

From what I see, that list did not take in account wind, temp or other factors. And we all know wind has little to nothing to do with Wrigley..

Here is another list that compares the rate of stats at home vs. the rate of stats on the road. The Cubs lead at Wrigley in 2007 and both the Cubs and Sox are in the top 7 most every year. On average US Comiskular is worse than Wrigley, but like I stated Wrigley isn't far behind. And take into account the DH and the Sox have been built for power the last few years, and the gap is even less.

My first heartbreak this year and many to come! I would say it's Gregg's fault, but there's no reason why Theriot couldn't turn two at the end of the game.
