WEll, that seems like a legitimate rumor. I mean, he will be a free agent. I'm sure the Cards will pay him what he's worth.... if they are smart.

Man.. I think the Cards are ready to move on. I might be wrong but I don't see them signing him to 10 yrs.
    L2W you will be missed.

The ticket demand has really gone down hill last year, and it's even worse this year. They couldn't even sell out the Cubs Convention for the first time ever.

If the Cubs are willing to pay Albert 30 Million per for 10 years then you know its a bad idea. But that's one of the things the Cubs do best, handing out stupid contracts and perpetually sucking.
    I own some stuff.

I dunno if they would do that...on the other hand, they've made some horrendous errors with big name players.

This isn't Soriano. This is the best player in the league.

He's going to get the money from someone.

He's gonna get paid, but I don't see anyone giving him that much for that many years. You would seriously handicap you ball club for a long time.
What if, in his older age, he becomes injury prone. Like Chipper in Atlanta, that's a long time to keep paying someone. Besides, you'd be paying the guy for what he's done, not what he will do.

Arod got 10/275 at the same age. Trust me he's going to get paid and Chipper is nowhere near the caliber of Pujols.

LMAO! Plus, you gotta realize the Cubs are desperate. They just need to win A world series. If it cost them that much....likely worth it.

As a hitter he's the surest bet in baseball. Jason Werth is pulling down 126 million. I mean WTF?!?

Washington completely lost their mind with that one. I predict Werth will bat .260 with 28 jacks this year.

The Cubs could also go after Fielder. No way the Brew Crew will be able to afford him next year. That's the main reason they traded all their prospects for pitching this year, they know this year or bust for a long time.

Now you're talking ....lmao. Pujols and Fielder to the Cubs.... Cept, Fielder would have to find a new position.

I'm not saying he isn't the best out there, but you handicap your team with that much to one guy! He doesn't guarantee a championship. If you can get him then great, but 10 years??? And you can't compare to anything the Yankees do, they overpay everyone.

The only comparison I was making to Chipper is if he gets injured as he gets older, the money you have tied up prevents you from paying someone else down the road.

Fielder needs to go to the AL. Hes going to eat his way out of playing defense.
