We are going up against our roomates...the Clippers. They lost Blake Griffin for six weeks!

I heard that, the Clippers have to be the most unlucky team in the NBA, maybe even all of sports. (minus the Rams)

Do people get pumped for the start of the NBA season over there in ATL? Or are they too focused on the Falcons right now?

Mostly yes, but alot has to do with the Hawks having success the last few years. But Atlanta will always be a college football town. If a good SEC football game is on at the same time as one of the pro teams, the college game would dominate the ratings. I'd be willing to bet if UGA played either Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tenn. or LSU on Sunday at home, the Falcons wouldn't be able to sell out the Dome.

Lakers got off to a decent start and are 1-0 on the season. The Clippers never seemed fired up, even when the cut the lead to 1!

    Solid first game...next.

    Hawks win their first game!!!
I like the look of them this year, all five of their startes capable of scoring double digits on the same night. But I still feel they need a go to guy in the clutch.

There's a simple explanation for that. The Cavs have, and always will suck. When Lebron signs with another team they'll be back to square one, just like in the 90's

So when is the first TV coming out where a "widget" is direct access to your "sports futures investment" account? That would be an awesome invention and would make me watch more NBA games..........

Maybe Windows 7 brings it to the table it is supposed to be a magic fixer to every problem that ever existed.

Separately......Boston Celtics will take it this year. Keeping the Bobcats to 59 points no matter how bad they are is pretty impressive.

I don't understand your first two paragraphs, but damn, 59 points is embarrasing!

I'm enjoying the NBA League Pass free preview!!

Sports Future Investment is my term for gambling. So I figure that if someone allowed me to access a gambling account through my TV (like you can get to the weather etc) then I would buy that TV in a heartbeat.

I was just trying to combine this thread with AV talk

Separately who is that chick Sobay? hmmm don't tell my wife, but DANG

Hawks are 2-0, playing some good ball so far. The addition of Jamal Crawford and Joe Smith is really paying off too, gives the bench some much needed depth along with Mo Evans.

    * Josh Smith became the youngest player to get 900 career blocks last night!

Nice win for the Hawks last night. 11pts over the Celtics, and first time in the regular season since 07 I think.

    What?

Don't look now but the Hawks have the best record in the East, and only 1/2 game out from having the best record in the NBA (tied with Phoenix)!

And they are No.1 on Hollinger's Power Rankings....http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings

And I got free tickets to the game tonight against the Miami Heat!!! Courtesy of the City Of Atlanta Fire Dept.
