I hope so. Almost went with the 3100 but I really have no need for the pre outs. Won't be going with an amp anytime soon.

Default GOS just ordered a new Denon X4000 AVR!

It's set up. The 20 extra wpc is noticeable ( to me anyway).
Bluetooth and wi if are nice as well. The 8 hdmi inputs are effing awesome. Nice in command series entry lvl avr.
    L2W you will be missed.

Hell yes, you should be able to tell the difference. IMO, it's when you pour the coals to it...that you notice the difference. Very cool....I love new shit.

Here is what is going down at GOS house. We have major changes....all the carpeting is going...and we're getting all new wood floors. UGH. That means the sound as I know it will change. Additionally, we are getting all new furniture...less room for my stuff. soooooo.

Probably ditching the big tower surrounds and going for the more traditional surrounds that will be mounted on the walls. As much as it sickens me...I might have to get rid of my mighty 15" sub. I know, I know. What can I do??? But, if I have to downsize a bit....that means I need to go for higher quality...to get the same amount of power and depth. Not sure yet...

It'll be hard to downsize a sub and get better performance.

The 15" subs pretty much smoke any 12" sub, and the big volume ported 15" subs usually outperform a 15" sealed small sub too. I think you better be prepared for less output, BUT, you can get some smaller sealed 15" and 12" subs that perform well.

    Hsu has the ULS15. http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/uls-15.html

    SVS has vertical subs. http://www.svsound.com/subwoofers/cylinder

PSA has good stuff. http://www.powersoundaudio.com/products/s1500 (this one smokes a ULS15 if you look at the below charts)

Sunfire has nice subs, but I think they may be overpriced.

As far as smaller speakers, I like the SVS Ultra http://www.svsound.com/speakers/ultra-series and of course the Klipsch!
