Meh, believe it when I see it. LCD's been charging too much and selling gimmicks for a decade. Some ol story 10 years later. Tried to market beating a plasma, never happened in the real world, wont happen against OLED.

Now that they have OLED blacks, can LCD's please get a decent view angle?

viewing angles on the LG OLED is amazing. I can't see how Sony can produce a 'better' picture.

They are using LG panels, like they would use Samsung and LG panels, etc for LCD's. They have proven they can take another manufacturers panel tech and make a better package. A lot of it is in software and cal control. LG sucks at CMS, their Trumotion tech sucks compared to Motionflow.

Same panels, different programmers, I take Sony all day long. Just like how Panny's OLED with a LG panel was better than LG's own tv LOL. I love my LG OLED, but LG engineers have their head up their butt on a couple of things.

I always turn off all motion flow and most of the other automated features. Always ended up with a better picture.

Of course, you are right. This sort of thing happens all over the industry.

Welcome back AVJ; still have that X5?

I'm drooling over the LG OLED77G6P. Now going for 20K. Of course I'd never pay this much for any TV. I'll wait a few years till it dips closer to 5K. But I'm just curious to know if anyone here has seen this TV in action and would comment on the performance. Much appreciated...

I'm hoping they will come out with a 77-incher in their B series. Don't need 3-D or the fancy soundbar.

Pricing coming down should help the 77", I would love one of those!

That being said, Sony or LG has a 65" price nice next year with improvements over my '15, Ill be upgrading.

With Sony now in the OLED arena (though with LG panels) , I hope things will start moving with competition driving prices down, more people buying, and more manufacturers joining the fray... The Sony XBR77A1E looks amazing!
