Default Need help finding a solid used receiver..

    werthliving.com

I am currently looking at used receivers for my setup. Currently I use Polk Monitor 60s CS2 40s for rear. This will change in the future once I have a bigger theater room. My current receiver is a Yamaha rxv667 but my dad wants a secondary receiver to use as a pre amp. Seeing if I bought used with a few more options if it would be worth my upgrade to trade my dad. My budget is going to be around 450.

    What I want is:
    3d Pass through
    Pre Outs
    Mult Ch In
Power Trigger (so I dont have to turn the amp on and off separately)
    At least 4 HDMI
    Good Video Processing
App Controller either android or ios.

I would really like 9.2 but that is asking a lot for my current price. With all of this said I have been looking at the pioneer elite models, but to me their model numbers become quite confusing. Possibly Pioneer SC 35

Looking for what someone else may recommend.

You might want to check out THIS SITE...they handle a lot of factory refurbished products...I've known several people who have purchased from that site and they have had positive things to say about it...

AC4L or find it on Amazon and then click the links below the main price that look like this:

    "15 new from $1,299.00 7 used from $859.00 1 refurbished from $839.01"

I got my X4000 from Amazon Warehouse deals (basically the box got beat up in shipping) new for $350 less than a "new" one and still got a 1 year warranty. Denon treats it like an open box. There are also a lot of reliable refurb and used sellers on Amazon, just look at their ratings. Also, for any refurb off amazon, make sure the seller is authorized because some companies won't honor the warranty.

I have been browsing Amazon and ACL for awhile now. I was really set on getting a Pioneer Elite either the SC35 or SC55 used somewhere and didnt see any on ACL. Is there a better option for under 600$ that I should be considering. I have been using Yamaha for awhile now but wanted to change it up.

You might take a chance HERE...I doubt if the bids will remain in your budget but you never know...you might get lucky..plus if you have Pay Pal Bill Me Later you can get more time to pay for the item...6 months...might be worth a shot...

Yes I am actually watching both of these. Thank you for the recommendations. Personal opinion do you think the SC35 is a big upgrade to my rx-v667? For around the 600$ price range do you think there is a better option?

I've been out of the AVR market for awhile..I've had a Denon 988 for over 5 years now..I love it...my only complaint is that I could use more hdmi slots...but other than that I'm fine...

Here is another candidate for consideration:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mint-Conditi...item27ddc480a0

Also note there is no current 9.2 surround material and probably won't be for a considerable period of time it will only be matrixed sound vs actual 9.2

Denon is a better product than the Pioneer

BTW the 'make offer' starting point should be 575. and wait for a counter offer.

To be honest, Id recommend Denon or Onkyo with a good form of Audyssey if you use room correction. If not, the Pioneer's are very nice, Im just not a fan of MCACC.

    http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-NR818...ords=Onkyo+8182012 model and cheap.

This thing is a beast, I know I owned it. Is new, has Audyssey XT32 and runs cool. Lots of power too. I bought my dad a 808 over a year ago and its still kicking ass.

These are all good suggestions. Now Im starting to do some more research on Denon, maybe the 4310 model if I could find one in my price range.

How does the video processing compare from all models Denon Pioneer Yamaha?

I have been staying away from Onkyo as when I first went to purchase my Yamaha I had an Onkyo and it was having terrible issues with hdmi switching. I had this issues and have since avoided them. Personal preference there, but Id prefer to avoid them. No offense to anyone who may like Onkyo.

You may have to elevate your spending limit a bit to acquire something nice rather than settle for something else.

You aren't going to find a "reliable" 4310 model for anything close to your budget...now if you are interested in expanding your budget to $600 like you mentioned in an earlier post you could get a used Denon 3312CI from a respected dealer on amazon...MODIA... for $599...HERE..and I would avoid the first vendor on that list that just launched for $500...

    http://www.amazon.com/Denon-AVR-X300...ds=denon+x3000

There are several Denon warehouse deals for this X3000 at $644. As far as Onkyo, I had a 605 that I had problems with and you could cook on it, newer ones run a lot cooler. I had the 818 for awhile and it served me well. Only reason i sold it and got the X4000 as a preamp is because I want a second sub and the X4000 can eq two subs.

As far as video processing, I wouldnt use any of em to be honest.
