    Default ST60 ARC. Streaming Netflix

    werthliving.com

Hey guys haven't been here in a while, sorry about that. I do have question for those that may know.

Son n Law recently purchased ST60, along with an upper end pioneer receiver. Using direct tv we can easily switch to the receiver for sound out to the external speakers but when streaming Netflix the sound out is still direct tv. It's really odd. Sure there is a setting or connection wrong, having a blind eye to it right now.

Do you have the receiver connected to the correct HDMI port on the TV (only one of them supports ARC)? What happens if you turn the DirecTV receiver off or switch to a different input on the receiver? Have you checked for a setting on the receiver that enables ARC?

We turned direct tv off, then no sound at all, we checked hdmi was in ARC port on tv, we also went into pioneer menu and was sure arc was enabled.

Also when Netflix is streaming, viera link will not open to change settings, so we had to change before starting Netflix

Sounds like perhaps there is a setting like the standby HDMI passthrough setting, where if the receiver is off, it will pass along the audio and video of a selected HDMI input to the TV, so you can use the input like it was directly connected to the TV (get sound out the TV speakers) when the receiver is off. I forget what it's called, but it's often related to HDMI CEC and ARC settings and usually found in one of those menus.

Will give that a look see this afternoon. We did get the pass through working and have some control of the reciever through the hdmi. Cec. Need to check more setting though I guess.
