GMod, does the tv have a an optical audio out? If so, three are some reasonably priced gaming wireless headphones. I have some hooked up to my vt25...they work great!

Hey gang -
Wasn't sure where to put this post or thread. What I'm curious about is how can I get wireless audio to a pair of wireless headphones from a basic TV? Is there a way?
I have an older Samsung LCD in my bedroom and I'm simply trying to figure out how I can listen to the sound via wireless headphones without adding too much? I don't have any device connected to the TV, except a simple DISH Joey. Is there a workaround to get this?? Or...no?

I just looked - I see an odd looking port on the back that says Digital Optical out....what the hell would I do with that? How does that work with wireless headphones???

You're in good shape...only one more requirement...do you have a USB port on the tv? I'm hoping yes since you have the digital optical out...check out the attached picture...get an optical cable that comes out of the tv and connects to the box shown. The USB cable connects to a USB port on the tv for power. The box is what sends the wireless signal to the headset

BTW-That cable on the floor is the USB cable...it's not connected to the headphones.

HOld, on - I'll go check...not sure if it has USB or not.

YOu say, for power - couldn't I just plug the device into an outlet for power??

If no USB, they may have a box that plugs into an outlet...the key is the connection of the tv to the box with the optical cable...

OK, so it would be any wireless headsets that utilize a standalone transmitter? (oh, and has a way to plug into wall outlet for power...)

OK - hey Bobler, I already have an extra pair of bluetooth enabled wireless headphones...so I'm wondering if there is some device that can transmit to them from my TV? Something smaller...that is cheap...as I paid $65 for the headphones....I like them well enough, but as they are bluetooth and also have a USB dongle....they will not work with my TV as is...

However, your Joey does have a USB port, right? Maybe your blue tooth will work from the joey? If not...go to turtlebeach.com, find a set that you like, and go to amazon to buy them:-)

Well, you might have to spend some $...the good news is that the headphones I discussed will work since you have USB power from the Joey. Only problem...$$

Yeah - man, I cannot believe in all today's technology, I can't have a simple, cheap solution. I'm not gonna bother....jeez, might as well get a new TV. lmao
