Default Ernie Banks - Cub's legend passes away

What a sad day....as a Cub fan, you sort of think he will live forever. Wow....unexpected I think. What an icon in baseball and to the Cubs.

Bummer....not very many players left that had his skills, his personality and genuine love of the game.

    RIP Ernie...Mr. Cub

Yeah, I actually teared up a bit this morning on the outpouring on twitter. Man, just look at this stats! He changed the position of SS with his size and power.

Above all he was a class act! When you die and people say how good of a man you were before how good you were at your job, then you lived life right. He excelled at baseball, but he was defined by him as a person.

No doubt....there really just were not that many sports figures who were genuinely loved by so many.

He spent the better part of his entire life employeed as a Chicago Cub. I was reading that they asked his former teamates was he always as happy and positive as you see him. They said yes. Every single day and every moment. He was the real deal.

Banks was one of the good ones , ranks up there in Cub lore the same as Stan the Man does for the Cards.
    L2W you will be missed.
