Default Sigh. I really need to pay attention .

So... Recently bought a Denon x 2100W avr.
    4k pass through I'm set!
No. No I'm not. Did not read where it was not 2.2 compliant.
No big deal atm but still burns my ass.
And the search for a 4k set continues.
Should wait on that I think . Let everyone get on the same page.
Believe it or not the Vizio M series is getting some really good reviews .
Gaming lag is a big deal for me.

Returning to topic I want everything to run through my avr . When a 2.2 4k source ( new 4k hopper or 4k bd when they come out) hits the Denon it will stop in its tracks.
So maybe 2 yrs tops out of this avr before I have to go to something else.
I feel like I'm getting bent over. Lol
    L2W you will be missed.

Hopefully there will be Ultra BD players with a secondary audio-only HDMI output so you can work around it by going directly to your TV for the video and then to the AVR for audio.

I've purposefully been holding off until the 2015 models are out.

The 2015 equivalent to the X2100W just got released, the X2200W, it features HDMI 2.0a and HDCP 2.2 plus it will do Atmos and DTS-X (via firmware update later this year). The 2014 models don't have any promise of DTS-X support. So if you still can, you might want to consider returning the X2100.

I really don't think HDCP 2.2 will be a problem for me for a couple years. I'm sure as hell not replacing all my BDs with 4k discs.
Streaming will most likely be the main stay of this round of HD.
Just trying to get ready .
I'm not an early adopter anymore.
    L2W you will be missed.

I think the UHD players will be dual HDMI out, its a no brainer. Hopefully Dish and Directv DVR's will be as forward thinking but not sure. There are ways to work around. If anything, sell the AVR in a year or two and get a 2016 model on closeout with 2.2 for a discount. At this point we will be late next year for this stuff really gets going.

I want a 70" UHD display, but I am holding fast until discs and players are out. My other issue is, there goes my $2 redbox rental, itll be like when 3D came out, no rentals in UDH only $30/disc buys... My 1080p/24 VT50 still looks good

My DirecTV DVRs have optical digital audio outputs in addition to HDMI. Doubt that will change, as the Toslink is cheap and necessary for compatibility with old gear.

I will have to get a new avr .
I like just pressing one button on my Harmony . Lol
I will most likely wait until 2016 to get a UHD set. Want to make sure the set I get has HDMI 2.0a so it can take advantage of HDR.
    L2W you will be missed.
