A dual band would be fine.
Should be able to find a serviceable one for around $100 or so.
I'm looking for a new router. I have many gadgets that connect through Wi-Fi (smart tv, cameras, echo, printer, phone, kindle, etc and am buying more smart home devices and a 2nd smart tv). I'm not tech savvy at all and I want to purchase the best router (well, maybe not the top, top router as price is an issue, but a really good one) that can handle all of my devices well, and is secure. Can you please help me?
Also, please forgive me if this is a really stupid question (again, I'm not tech savvy at all) - but, the guy at best buy told me that I could purchase a router/personal cloud combo that would store my desktop to the cloud and I could access it from anywhere. Can you please educate me a little about this and tell me if that's the way to go and why or why not, please? Thanks so much!

L2W you will be missed.
I stumbled on this today: http://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/orbi. Looks interesting, though may not be available quite yet.
